The Nashville Predators 11th season in the National Hockey League will see them attempt to get back into the NHL Playoffs. Season Ticket Holders will be happy to know that they franchise didn’t rest on its laurels as they went out and secured six free agents, most notably former Canadiens defenseman Francis Bouillon and former 2001 Pittsburgh Penguin draft pick Ben Eaves.
In the NHL Entry Draft, the team signed Ryan Ellis with the 11th overall pick. Ellis is currently with Windsor Spitfires in the OHL. The team also resigned a number of players; Kevin Klein, Jordin Tootoo, Marcel Goc, Cal O’Reilly, Steve Sullivan, Triston Grant, Nolan Yonkman, Ryan Jones, Joel Ward and Ryan Maki.
The Predators are currently sitting in 7th place in the Western Conference with a 31-22-5 record.
The 2008-09 Nashville Predators failed to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2002-03 season. The team finished with a 40-34-8 record.
The eight-year-old Nashville Predators are still considered to be relatively new to the NHL, yet they are bent on making their powerful presence known this season. The Predators started out the season setting an NHL record by winning their first four games in a row by one goal each. They also made recent headlines by becoming the fourth NHL team to start the season 8-0. The last time a team set this kind of precedent was in 1993. Due to their winning record, Nashville Predators hockey tickets can't stay in the box office.
